FRONS is an artistic process shared between professional artists and local groups. The result of this project are performing experiences composed to be shared in public space, in front facades of buildings that have a direct or indirect relationship with the local group or community we work with. FRONS adopts different lenguages according to the working group. FRONS investigates what is facade and what is hidden in it. FRONS confront. FRONS approaches. Frons observe, criticizes and proposes. Sometimes FRONS works as a magnifying glass, sometimes as a panorama. FRONS is people. FRONS includes emotion, reflection, aesthetics and action. FRONS is now.
Locals Groups / Communities
Working with local groups to create a gameboard where the art descipline becomes a vehicle to meet eachother, to put in doubt eachother, to explore possibilities and imagine horizons. And work collectively. Groups of people who recognize themselves as a community, or communities that born without the previous consensus of its members. Communities wishing to question society and its individuals. And do it by the artistic process. Teatre de la comunitat opens the processes to all kinds of local groups as hikers, citizen platforms, immigrant women, students, professionals of a job in danger of extinction, people with different capacities, mothers, a tiny village or a skyscraper habitants, elderly people...
Process
The project is developed in creation residences. Artists from Teatre de la comunitat travel to the territory of the community they work with, for a minimum of two weeks to develop de research process and the collective creation of the performing experience that they and the group are going to share in public space at the end of the process.
PHASE 1 Research
Artists of Teatre de la comunitat propose artistic practice to local groups by workshops where they work from arts of movement, from the research of the dramaturgic potential of their stories, from the investigation of the images. The local group is the object and the subject of the research, its individuals, and its relationship with society.
PHASE 2 Composition
Localization of the facade that will be the stage of the performing experience. Collective creation between the artists and people of the local group, to compose the performing experience that they will share in public at the end of the process. Rehersal.
PHASE 3 Event
Performing the experience in a facade of a building to share it with the audience.
